1010benja is the latest alias of David Benjamin Smith Lyman from Tulsa, Oaklahoma. Formerly of the band True White Brother, he has released and played music for decades under is birth name as well as 1010 Benja SL & Benja SL.
After being featured on recordings by Chino Amobi and releasing his single Boofiness between 2016 and 2017 he garnered critical praise and has gone onto collaborate with Embaci, John Carrol Kirby, and BURNS among many others.
He is known for his powerful and beautiful singing voice, absurdist lyrics, and unique blend of R&B and singer-songwriter pop.
